BigBrotherAwards 2002

Award tales in the yarn factory

In 2002, the gala moves to a new venue at Ravensberger Spinnerei, a former flax spinning factory turned into a culture and education venue. Space is a bit tight. But there is enough air for fiery award speeches. Which is highly approriate for these winners: Bayer, Deutsche Post, the German Bundesrat (Federal Council), the Hessian Interior Minister Volker Bouffier, and last not least Microsoft are given a BigBrotherAward. Microsoft even sends a representative who receives their Lifetime Achievement award in person.

About BigBrotherAwards

In a compelling, entertaining and accessible format, we present these negative awards to companies, organisations, and politicians. The BigBrotherAwards highlight privacy and data protection offenders in business and politics, or as the French paper Le Monde once put it, they are the “Oscars for data leeches”.
