425 Millionen Dollar Strafe für Google!

US-Konzern bekommt die Quittung fürs illegale Datensammeln.

Rund 98 Millionen Google-Nutzer.innen hatten in den USA mit einer Sammelklage Erfolg: Ein Geschworenengericht verdonnerte den Konzern zu einer Strafe von 425 Millionen Dollar. Obwohl die User.innen eine entsprechende Tracking-Funktion in ihrem Google-Konto deaktiviert hatten, sammelte der Tech-Riese weiter ihre Daten.
