Ist Google konkurrenzlos?

Bundeskartellamt leitet Verfahren wegen Marktmacht und Datenverarbeitung ein.

Nach Facebook und Amazon ist jetzt Google dran: Das Bundeskartellamt eröffnet gleich zwei Verfahren gegen den Konzern. Das erste soll klären, ob Google mit Suchmaschine, YouTube, Maps, Android und Chrome eine „überragende marktübergreifende Bedeutung“ für den Wettbewerb hat. Das zweite nimmt die Datenverarbeitung des Konzerns ins Visier: Zwingt Google Nutzer.innen faktisch zur Zustimmung, ohne echte Wahlmöglichkeit zu bieten? Kartellamtschef Andreas Mundt stellt dazu fest, Googles Geschäftsmodell baue „ganz grundlegend“ auf der Verarbeitung von Nutzer.innendaten auf.
